Problem

The customer required two key elements. A mobile command center, capable of being deployed very quickly and easily, and providing high quality VoIP telephony in the case that terrestrial networks were down due to a large storm or event.

Second, the customer sought a completely wireless turn key platform that could support up to 100 out-going phone lines, to support a call center command style set up inside a main administrative building. Again, the system had to be completely independent of any cellular or terrestrial networks, wireless and scale-able, and easy to set up.

Our iDirect Teleport Earth Station, providing Ku satellite frequency on G16.

Solution

Our custom Mobile Command Trailer was delivered completely turn-key, with a VR7 auto-acquire satellite providing wireless internet and VoIP capability, all with the simple push of a button. Our own iDirect Earth Station hub provides the network backbone to the system. With added 'Office Boxes' we extended the phone and internet range up to .5 mile radius from the mobile trailer. This permits the trailer to act as a wireless hub for VoIP and Internet, so an active network can be up and running anywhere and anytime it is needed in the matter of minutes.

Deploying our auto-acquire VR7 1.2m VSAT solution for the main administration building (on the roof), we provided a completely wireless back-up network for the Division, with Internet and VoIP again being provided by our own iDirect Earth Station hub. Deploying our Commercial Intercom system, we added one PBX Box and 3 Office Boxes providing wireless telephony capability for over 70 phones.

Overall, this solution permits the Division to a) run 2 (one mobile / one fixed) complete telephone system independent of any terrestrial networks b) provide internet to mobile and stationary staff and personnel in fast moving situations c) fast deployment with auto-acquire satellites and no worries about getting knocked off-line d) all backed by our 24/7 NOC serving the equipment we make and the network we own and operate e) completely wireless and scable-able for future needs.
